Bottom line: this was an easy recommendation during our visit. Entry was nearly instantaneous, the club was uncrowded and quiet, and the seating worked equally well for a laptop session or a long pause before boarding. Food was average, but the lounge succeeded at its more important job: making the airport feel calmer.

Correct location: across from Gate G18

The lounge is in Terminal 1, Concourse G, officially across from Gate G18. Calling it the G17 club is understandable from the surrounding gate area, but G18 is the useful map reference. Delta says the South TSA Checkpoint provides the most direct access.

MSP Airport currently lists daily hours of 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Check the Fly Delta app on the day of travel for live hours and occupancy.

Three self-service kiosks support quick entry. Our boarding pass scanned immediately and there was no line, but that will depend on crowding and whether Delta can verify the qualifying credential attached to the traveler’s account.

The best feature: room to sit and work

Opened in April 2023, this is MSP’s third and largest Delta Sky Club. Delta lists more than 21,000 square feet and seating for over 450 guests. That scale matters at a hub where lounge crowding can erase the benefit of entering.

We found leather chairs, banquettes, counter seats, and long bar seating, with power outlets consistently close at hand. During our visit, conversations faded into the background instead of filling the room.

The three glass-enclosed, soundproof booths are especially useful for focused solo work or a brief private call. However, Delta’s current house rules prohibit business meetings, conference calls, and job interviews inside Sky Clubs. Treat the booths as quiet workspaces, not reservable meeting rooms.

Hot food that does the job

Our evening buffet followed a familiar American interpretation of Chinese food: spring rolls, sweet-and-sour chicken, and fried rice, alongside sandwiches and desserts. The flavor was ordinary, but it supplied a complete hot meal when airport alternatives were limited.

Coffee machines, soft drinks, and self-service nonalcoholic options covered the basics. The club also has two premium bars, including the long indoor bar that visually anchors the main room.

The long bar is part social center, part visual focal point; many standard drinks are included, while premium selections may cost extra.

Buffet menus rotate by meal period and season, so do not visit expecting this exact selection. Our verdict is about the level rather than the specific dishes: sufficient variety and warmth, without a standout plate.

A Minnesota identity beyond generic lounge design

Warm lighting, clean metal lines, wood, copper, amber, and blue-green tones make the club feel newer than many domestic airport lounges. Delta says the design draws from Minnesota’s lakes and summer sunsets.

The regional art adds personality: a mechanical horse, a mosaic-like birch forest, and sculptural garments made the walk through the lounge feel considered rather than standardized.

The colorful birch composition reinforces the club’s Minnesota-inspired visual language.

The club also includes a year-round Sky Deck. Its windows can open in warmer weather and close against a Minnesota winter, offering airfield views without making the feature seasonal-only.

How Delta Sky Club access works in 2026

Access rules are complicated enough that a premium credit card or elite status should never be treated as an automatic yes. Check Delta’s live eligibility tool before travel.

  • Time limit: departing travelers can normally enter within three hours of scheduled departure. The rule does not apply the same way during an eligible connection.
  • Amex Platinum: eligible U.S. Platinum and Business Platinum cardmembers currently receive 10 visits per February 1–January 31 benefit year on eligible Delta flights.
  • Delta Reserve: eligible Reserve and Reserve Business cardmembers currently receive 15 visits per benefit year.
  • One visit: qualifying club entries across one or more airports within 24 hours generally count as a single visit for these card benefits.
  • Basic fare warning: Delta Main Basic travelers cannot enter using these lounge credentials. Delta introduced additional Basic-branded premium fares in 2026, with further access changes scheduled for travel beginning January 19, 2027.
  • Guests: card-based guest access generally costs $50 per person, subject to the credential’s terms.

Annual membership, qualifying same-day premium-cabin itineraries, and certain elite international trips can provide other paths. The exact operating carrier, marketing carrier, ticket stock, fare family, origin, and destination can all matter.

Is this the best Delta Sky Club at MSP?

For space, modern design, quiet work, and a gate in or near Concourse G, this is the first MSP club we would check. Delta itself describes it as the airport’s newest and largest club.

That does not mean crossing the terminal is always rational. With a short connection, use the closest eligible lounge or stay near the gate. With enough time, the G18 club rewards the walk—particularly when the Fly Delta app shows lighter occupancy.
