Bottom line: if your access method and departure terminal allow it, choose Oriental Club for the strongest all-around experience. If you are flying China Airlines with qualifying cabin or alliance status, compare that option with the airline’s own lounge before following your card app automatically.

Oriental Club Lounge: our top pick

Oriental Club felt brighter, calmer, and more spacious than Plaza Premium during our visit. The food was the real advantage: made-to-order Taiwanese beef noodles, braised pork rice, hot dishes, dim sum, Taiwan beer, and wine made this feel closer to a proper meal than a snack stop.

The lounge is after security and passport control on Level 4 of Terminal 2. Its official site lists seating for roughly 200, Wi-Fi, charging, showers, a rest area, fitness equipment, and made-to-order dishes. As of July 2026 it advertises 24-hour operation, with reduced food, seating, and facility availability from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Shower strategy: request a slot as soon as you enter. Rooms can fill quickly, and Priority Pass currently says showers are unavailable during the reduced overnight service.

Plaza Premium: useful, but not our food winner

Plaza Premium operates locations in both TPE terminals, which can make it the practical choice when Oriental Club is inconvenient for your gate or unavailable through your access program. On our visit, however, the space felt busier and the buffet more basic—think curry, spring rolls, salad, and drinks rather than a destination meal.

We would still use it to shower, recharge devices, work at a proper seat, or escape the gate area. Lounge conditions vary by zone and time, so check the exact location rather than treating every Plaza Premium at TPE as identical.

China Airlines Dynasty Lounge: check your status

Flying China Airlines? Look beyond the credit-card lounge list. The carrier’s own Dynasty Lounges serve freshly cooked beef noodles, roasted sweet potato, dim sum, and Taiwanese snacks. They were a better fit for this trip than paying or using a separate lounge visit.

Delta Gold Medallion maps to SkyTeam Elite Plus. Delta lists global lounge access as a Gold benefit when traveling on qualifying SkyTeam partner itineraries, and China Airlines lists airport-lounge access for Elite Plus members. The details matter: it generally applies to eligible same-day international SkyTeam travel, and guest rules and time limits apply. Show your frequent-flyer number and status at check-in, then confirm the invitation before security.

Priority Pass and Amex access: verify before traveling

“I have Amex” is not enough to guarantee entry. Lounge access depends on the exact card, country of issue, enrollment, membership status, guest policy, same-day boarding pass, capacity, and sometimes the fare or airline.

  • Open the Priority Pass or Amex app shortly before departure.
  • Confirm the lounge appears for TPE and your terminal.
  • Read the maximum-stay, guest, child, and closure notes.
  • Carry the required physical or digital membership card plus your boarding pass.
  • Expect capacity controls during busy periods.

For example, the current Priority Pass listing for Oriental Club specifies a three-hour maximum visit, while the lounge separately sells a two-hour walk-in package. These are different access products, not a contradiction.

One contrarian tip: save room for the airport

Taoyuan’s terminal food is part of the fun. Taiwanese comfort food, tea drinks, and quick local snacks can be more interesting than a second buffet plate. Unless the lounge meal is your priority, sample the beef noodles, book the shower, then leave enough appetite to explore near your gate.
